First Time Visit

Patient Resources

We are devoted to providing you and your family with safe, gentle, superior high dental care. At Ridgewood Dental, we understand that you, or your child, may feel anxious about visiting the dentist; so we’ve created a family relaxed environment to help you more at ease. It is our goal to make you feel comfortable while we provide you with the best possible care.

What to Expect

Your initial appointment usually will consist of an examination, x-rays, and a review of your treatment options with the doctor. Usually, treatment can be done or started the same day as your consultation. However, a complex medical history or treatment plan may require an evaluation and a second appointment to provide treatment on another day.

Please fill out a new patient form before your visit. Print and bring it with you on your visit. To assist us, you may bring any of the following information at the time of your consultation:

  • A list of medications you are currently taking.
  • Any x-rays taken by a previous dentist, if applicable.
  • If you have dental insurance, please bring your card or forms. Be sure to call ahead if you have questions regarding insurance. This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.

IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to treatment (i.e., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are presently taking any medication (i.e., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.).

X-Rays

If your dentist or physician has taken x-rays, you may request that they forward them to our office. If there is not enough time, please pick them up and bring them to our office. If additional x-rays are necessary, they can be taken at our facility

After your checkup and teeth cleaning are complete, the doctor will meet with you to discuss your x-rays and records, and create an individual treatment plan to help ensure proper oral care, along with answering any questions that you may have.
